Guest Professorship 2011/2012
Porochista Khakpour was born in 1978 in Teheran and raised in the area of Greater Los Angeles. During her studies she received among others grants from the Johns Hopkins University in Writing Seminars, Northwestern University, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. Her creative work was and still will be published e.g. in the New York Times, The Paris Review Daily and the Los Angeles Times. She released her first novel Sons and other flammable objects in 2007. Next to her daily narrative work she teaches Creative Writing and Literature in various Universities.
